Developed for WWII Royal Air Force pilot submersion suits, Ventile was designed to keep pilots alive until rescue in case of an open water bailout. A long staple cotton made from the top 2% grade fibers, Ventile is specially woven to swell into watertight matrix when wet, and has a long history of serious performance, and has been used in many major mountaineering expeditions. We bring it to you in this classic field jacket, perfect for field sports where you need 100% natural rustle-free breathability, comfort and durability.
Traditional Ventile jackets were made with two layers for waterproofness, as traditional seam taping systems would not adhere to the fabric. Keela developed a special tape to seam seal on Ventile, reducing the garment weight by half. The Falkland features a single layer of Ventile, paired with our signature SDP condensation control liner, offering an optimal combination of natural performance and technology to keep you in superior comfort.
